Our first lab had us locating and identifying features based off our own signature analysis with aerial imagery. We started new maps, added the raster aerial data, and created point and polygon feature classes in order to help identify points and areas on the map based off their signatures. The above map shows an example of how we utilized this week's learning to identify and mark different signatures so that we can show we have a grasp on the concept of remote imagery identification. We created this next map to showcase our skills in identifying features based on association, pattern, shadow, and shape/size. A good example from this image is the shadow point which shows a streetlight. Based on context of known features and real-world experience, one is able to identify the long object near a parking lot as a streetlight.
