About Me
Hello everyone!
My name is Steven Kulik and I am currently attending the University of West Florida enrolled in the GIS and Administration Master's program. I joined the program due to my fascination with GIS after being introduced to it during my bachelor's program. While in a very large class, I found the professor stating lab after lab, that only 4-5 students would receive higher than an 80% on their assignments. Seeing that I was getting 95%'s and higher, I decided to dedicate my time to turning this fascination into a career.
I now work full time in the eGIS field conducting fieldwork and mapping seagrass beds all around the state of Florida, as well as creating maps to determine county water budgets in the state of California. I love what I do and aim to get better so that I can move up professionally.
What I hope to gain from this program is a higher degree of ability in my field. Maintaining old skills as well as mastering new ones are crucial to this career path I've chosen, and I fully intend to put anything UWF can teach me to good use.
